(NIDA, WAAPA, VCA)In terms of career training and industry preparation, absolutely. But we adopt an accelerated training environment and philosophy as well as our unique 2.5 year structure. This means you will cover the essential core material but over a shorter time and graduate 5 months prior to the other schools. Our teaching year is also 9 - 10 weeks longer than the other schools and our work hours also longer (8.30am - 6.30pm). Is the qualification recognised in the industry?Absolutely. You will graduate with an Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts (Acting). As the Centre was founded 1987 and the Full-Time Acting Course began in 1990, our track record is proven and the industry greatly respects, supports and welcomes our graduates. The industry feedback we receive is outstanding. We invite you to enquire within the industry and you’ll quickly find out. Does the course prepare you for the industry? The curriculum and teaching practices all reflect the industry of today whilst giving you a fusion of traditional technique through contemporary training. Our graduates are industry-skilled and ready to work onstage or on set with rigour, enthusiasm, commitment and care. We believe a professional is someone other professionals wish to work with. Our grads exemplify this. Is there a 'culling' of students? We accept approximately 24 students and commit to train and graduate each and every one of them. If they commit to, travel with, and achieve the levels of excellence available to every student, they will graduate. Therefore you won’t find fear and damaging competition as a dynamic of this program – the space is clear for everyone to work at their very best and, to go beyond. Is there a Showcase? An extensive list of guests including casting directors, agents, producers and directors are invited to come and view our graduating year when they are launched into the industry 6 months prior to the other institutions. This means graduates are ready for castings and work immediately upon graduation and are graduating in the middle of a working year and not at its close. |
