Ray’s Tempest, Steve’s first full length play was performed to wide acclaim in May of 2005 for Company B at Belvoir St Theatre. It has since been performed by the Melbourne Theatre Company in its 2006 season starring William McInnes, Kim Gyngel and Genevieve Picot. It was workshopped at the Australian National Playwrights’ Conference in 2004 and was subsequently short listed for the Patrick White Playwrights’ Award.  Steve is currently working on his next play, Savage River, set in Tasmania’s West Coast.

A Theatre Nepean graduate, Steve’s acting credits with Company B include Neil Armfield’s productions of Night on Bald Mountain (with the State theatre Company of South Australia), The Blind Giant is Dancing and the international tour of Cloudstreet.  He also played Sir Toby Belch in Richard Roxburgh’s production of Twelfth Night for Company B in 2000.

Steve has also worked with Porkchop Productions (Last Cab to Darwin), Sydney Theatre Company (Democracy, The Miser, Three Sisters, She Stoops to Conquer, The Comedy of Errors, As You Like It ), Ensemble Theatre (Humble Boy, The Boys Next Door, All My Sons, Lobby Hero, A Streetcar Named Desire, Diving for Pearls) and The Bell Shakespeare Company (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth).

Steve has worked with some of Australia’s best screen directors, having appeared in films such as the Tropfest-winning short The Money, as well as You Can’t Stop the Murders, The Bank, La Spagnola, Oscar and Lucinda, Dead Heart and Children of the Revolution and on television in Fireflies, Go Big, The Postcard Bandit, Heroes’ Mountain, Always Greener, Headstart, All Saints, Water Rats, Big Sky and GP, to name just a few.
