STEVEN VIDLER
Steven is an actor, writer and director. A graduate of NIDA and both VCA / Swinburn and AFTRS film schools. Steven has also shared his professional experience as a teacher / performance consultant at Actors Centre Australia, AFTRS, Sydney Uni Open Program, NIDA and AFC Indivision Lab Steven also received a fellowship to study screen writing at UCLA while working as a script assessor for producer Ross Bell [Fight Club]. His ABC mini-series A Difficult Woman, co-written with Nicholas Hammond, won the Silver World Medal for best mini-series at the New York Festivals.
His debut feature as director, Blackrock, received a prestigious premiere screening at Sundance and was nominated for five AFI awards including Best Film. Steven has also been nominated for and won AFI Awards as an actor. Steven’s acting career spans 25 years playing major roles in film [including The Umbrella Woman, Two Hands and Home Song Stories] television, [including Janus, MDA, The Dunera Boys and Heartland] and theatre [including The Seagull, Away, The Tempest, Lost in Yonkers, King Lear, Hamlet and 1841].
