Year Two

VOICE/PHYSICAL THEATRE PROJECT

Understanding the physical and vocal demands of acting leads to the sharpening and precision of how they can be best utilized onstage. Focusing completely on the power and precision of the spoken word and physical instrument, this project harnesses each actor’s full attention onto these essential core skills whilst creating 2 distinctive performance events.

RUSSIAN PROJECT

The actor is now ready to embrace the depth, subtleties and complexity of character work, and where better than with and through the great characters in the Russian theatre cannon. Drawing on the great plays by Chekhov, Ostrovsky, Gorky, Turgeniev amongst others, actors work with 2 distinguished industry directors uncovering the wealth of discovery that lies in these great works.

SHAKESPEARE PROJECT

With all the skills in place, it’s time to test them to the hilt. Actors are asked to rise to the height of their abilities and then some through tackling the greatest challenge as well as the greatest gift an actor can have – acting Shakespeare. Each company works on an abridged version from this classical repertoire.

REALITY BYTES (Verbatim Theatre)

If art mirrors life, then best to connect to the source itself – real life, real people. Through many hours of recorded interviews, each actor brings one person to life in absolute vocal precision. Actors will never look at characters in plays the same after this project as verbatim theatre gets under the skins of real people and takes you to the heart of their truth.
